February 2021 ALL Newsletter
WHO WANTS TO LEAD-CONNECT-GROW-SERVE?
February is Presidents month in the United States. It gives us a chance to look in the rearview mirror and access, learn, and honor those leaders that have been at the highest level of Leadership.
The 2021 ALL Adult & Youth Class has just completed our Diversity Session making it past the halfway point of the year! The Allen Lima Leadership Adult Class has been fortunate to meet in person for each of the past 7 months and have adhered to the protocols set forth by our Health Officials. It has been a unique and rewarding experience. Both our Adult & Youth classes are a real joy!
I am very grateful to this 2021 Adult class and the 2020 class, which graduated in September. Both classes have what one of my favorite leaders and mentors, Hall of Fame Coach Bob Seggerson calls, “Resilient attributes” defined as the ability to rebound or withstand difficult circumstances. These emerging leaders have this in “bunches!”
As we have worked through our core pillars of Leadership, community awareness, networking, and giving back to the community, these two classes have demonstrated being resilient in so many ways. The 2020 ALL class delivered an impressive class project focused on researched data in the hopes of retaining more workers and families in our region. The 2021 ALL class has been focused on growing their leadership skills and investigating possible avenues to impact our community in positive ways and outcomes. Stay tuned! The Class project reveal is June 2021!
ALL KNOWS ITS COMMUNITY
We have explored great leadership in the areas of agriculture, education, financial sector, economic development, our non- profit resources, and diversity!
We have announced 2 new partnerships with the United Way of Greater Lima and CEO Derek Stemen. The United Way has granted both the Adult & Youth Class $2,500 towards the class impact projects. This is a very generous and strategic gift that will benefit the good of our community and mission. This is the first grant ALL has received specifically for the Impact Project! Thank you to the UNITED WAY of Greater Lima!
A WORD ON OUR ADULT/YOUTH CURRICULUM:
We conduct a survey after each class session for both the youth and adult sessions. I am very pleased to share that out of a 1-4 star ranking; our curriculum and experiences for a period covering more than 45 sessions; ALL has been given a 4 star (Excellent) review by the class members. A very exciting review of what ALL is providing in value and educational experience.
