ALLEN LIMA COMMUNITY YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Mission

The Allen/Lima Youth Leadership program is a county and city wide youth leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors. The ALL-Youth Leadership program actively involves, educates and challenges youth to reach their fullest potential as leaders.

Goals

Actively involve youth with hands-on leadership training activities. Educate youth about their community, leadership, and personal values. Challenge youth to become the future generations of leaders.

Eligibility Requirements

The Allen/Lima youth Leadership program seeks thirty high school sophomores and juniors:

  • Who represent a cross-section of participants from various local high schools, ethnic/minority groups and gender.
  • Who have demonstrated a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest to serve their schools and community.
  • With the ability to set and attain goals as demonstrated by their personal achievement.
  • With the availability of time to participate in the Allen/Lima Youth Leadership program with full support of their school administration.

Application deadline is May 31, 2010

Program

From October to May, the All-Youth Leadership program will conduct educational sessions focusing on team building, community visioning, personal development, local issues and opportunities, and diversity. These training sessions, which meet approximately every other month, will provide the youth with unique opportunities to learn more about their community.

** No cost for participation. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from sessions**
