Part of the responsibility of leaders in a community is to look at Health issues and Health Care. Health Care is changing dramatically and the panel of Health Care Officials will touch on a few of the major issues facing Health Care in the future. Allen County's health outlook is on par with the state and national profiles. It links a variety of factors to physical and mental health including affordable housing, crime and employment.

The ALL Class will have visitations to various Allen County Schools. Visiting a school will allow us to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the education systems in our communities. It will also provide and opportunity to meet administrators, tour the schools and have a one-on-one conversation with teachers and students.
The Allen Lima Leadership participants are very interested in and committed to our education system. After our visitations we will meet with a number of school administrators to discuss current changes, new state proposals and/or new requirements in education for the new millenium.

We will then discuss the changes in welfare reform and the services provided by LACCA.

The workforce for the future is changing dramatically and the panel of labor and management professionals will touch on a few of the major issues facing negotiations in union/non union jobs, skilled/unskilled labor, the global market, training, growth and cooperation needed to meet the demands occuring now and in the future.
The session is designed specifically to provide an education and awareness that many people in Lima and Allen County are working together to make significant accomplishments within their companies. We will also look at the 'emerging workforce' and the changes taking place with new employment policies in recruitment, retention and satisfaction.

This session will increase our knowledge of agriculture as a business, responsibilities and cooperation between sectors and the importance of agriculture to the people of Allen County.
In addition to hearing a panel of experts in the field of agriculture, chemical technology and governmental issues that affect agriculture regulations, the ALL Class will be visiting a few of the many different types of businesses relating to the field of agriculture.
Experts state that if we are to survive, we have to develop and extend work on the land. Our reaction depends on our intellect/knowledge, planning and accomplishments.
A good environment has often been defined as keeping people, space and resources in equilibrium. Maintaining that equilibrium affects a wide spectrum of the environmental, economic, social and political concerns. It will become more important and essential, not less! Our involvement indicates the direction of our thinking today.
Economic Development and Business TOP
'Partnership is a fundamental principle in the day to day business of economic development in our region. It is essential, it cannot be replaced by the work of one or two people, and it is fragile commodity.'
